As part of Lifeshare’s CARDS Project, we have added a new stream that addresses the service users’ needs for expression through creativity, be that in the form of drawing, writing, collage or any other artistic activity. We believe in allowing people to have a creative experience of themselves and enabling a healthy way to express their personality and circumstance. Furthermore, we believe that providing this opportunity will build self-confidence and esteem, and engender feelings of empowerment and an air of reinvention.
Already, the project has attracted the attention and support of the Castlefield Gallery and the internationally recognized Koestler Trust, in addition to local art material suppliers such as Fred Aldous and H Blyth & Co who have generously donated materials in support of our work.
“We Say” Exhibition, April 2015
We are delighted to announce that many of the pieces resulting from this project will feature in
an exhibition to be held at 3 Piccadilly Place Manchester (M1 3BN) from 10am-6pm on 11-17 April 2015. Further details are available in the related news article.
All pieces displayed here and in our Flickr Album have been produced by Lifeshare’s service users.
