On July 18th, 2021 Lifeshare hosted our first in-person event of 2021 with a Wellbeing Day in Manchester’s City Centre.

Lifeshare supporters Yumyummanc came to us in Spring 2021 looking for a way to help out and provide food for those who need it most. From this offer of support was born the idea of a day when not only Yumyum and Lifeshare, but also other vital support services could come together in a collaborative effort to provide meals, information, and access to support.

When Urban Village Medical Practice came on board we knew we had the makings of an incredible day.

We contacted some of the amazing partner services we work with to see if they could come down and join us at the event. Attendees included Coffee4Craig, GMP, Street Engagement Hub, Change Grow Live, and Two Brews joining us on the day. We also had leaflets and information from Barnabus and The Mens Room which were included in our Wellbeing Packs.

Another amazing addition to the day was Dean, a barber from O’Neill’s Barber House, who came down to provide fresh haircuts and trims.

Food for the event was provided by the fantastic Yumyummanc along with their friends Tikka Chance on Me with tasty empanadas and dahl. Destiny Foods also provided fresh cakes and ice creams for a dessert to finish off the meal on a positive note.

Over the course of the day 40 Wellbeing packs were distributed. These packs included bottled water, chocolate, crisps, snack bars, service information, and individual hand sanitisers donated by the management of The Hive. We also served 75 hot meals, gave out 10 bottles of sun cream, and had 12 haircuts.
