On January 31st, 2023 Lifeshare hosted our annual Volunteer Appreciation Party. This year the event was held at local cafe, Feel Good Club. Longtime supporters of Lifeshare, the Feel Good Club team helped to provide welcome drinks for attendees as well as a bespoke menu of fresh and tasty appetizers for Lifeshare volunteers to enjoy.
With close to 100 volunteers in attendance the evening began with time to mix and mingle before food was served. After our volunteers had a chance to grab a bite they were presented with certificates to honour their work. This was followed by “Special Awards” as nominated by fellow volunteers. These awards included:

- “Door Guardian”- Hannah E.
- “Most Creative Cheese on Toast Maker”- Sammi L.

- “Turkey Chef Extraordinaire”- Rachel
- “Best Pot Wash”- Tom C.
- “Masters of the Kitchen” – Kim L. & Lyndsey B.
- “Queue Master” – Gary W.
- “Best Brewer Upper” – Stephen W.
- “Best Eggs”- Liam K.
- “Most Unrecognizable” – Stephen A.
The team from partner company Vinci Construction were also honored for their support over the Christmas period. Vinci worked with their partners Muse Developments and Pension Insurance Corporation to provide a venue for our seven-day Christmas Project at their new Victoria Construction site. After awards were presented Operations Manager, Judy Vickers thanked the volunteers in attendance for their efforts and acknowledged the many volunteers who were unable to attend on the night. The night was capped off by a speech from outgoing Respite Coordinator Dave Fraser, who thanked the staff and volunteers for their support in his tenure at Lifeshare.
